During my earlier years in Germany, many of my peers and I prepared for opportunities to travel abroad. High interest was placed specifically on traveling and studying in the west, in countries like Canada and the United States of America. At the age of 16, I was fortunately presented with the opportunity to study abroad at an American school. However, life had other plans for me. During my twenties, while studying sociology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany, many of my classmates were from China. Because of this, I got the opportunity to learn a lot about Chinese culture and history. In 2003, I had my first stay in China and many further trips to China during the following years.

早些年，我和许多同龄人都做好了出国旅行的准备。他们对去加拿大和美国等国家旅游和学习特别感兴趣。16岁那年，我有幸得到了去美国学校学习的机会。然而，生活对我另有安排。20多岁的时候，我在德国明斯特威斯特伐利亚威廉大学(Westphalian Wilhelms university)学习社会学，当时我的许多同学都来自中国。因为这样我有机会了解了一些中国文化。2003年，我第一次在中国停留，并在接下来的几年里多次前往中国。

After graduation, I spent about five years in the market research sector in Germany, focusing on the following areas: product packaging designs, consumer behavior, and brand building. However, I was still interested in learning more about the political system and social structures in China and finding out if there were elements that could also be beneficial for increasing the well-being of western societies. In 2012, I finally decided to look out for opportunities in the Chinese market and started a second study program related to the Chinese language and economy in Frankfurt/ Main.

毕业后，我在德国从事了大约五年的市场调研工作, 专注于以下领域：包装设计、消费者行为和品牌建设。然而，我仍然有兴趣更多地了解中国的政治制度和社会结构，并找出是否存在有利于提高西方社会福祉的因素。2012年，我终于决定在中国市场寻找机会，并在法兰克福/梅因开始了第二个与汉语和经济相关的学习项目。

I moved to Beijing in early 2017 as a project manager at Rudolf Scharping Strategie Beratung Kommunikation AG (RSBK). Since then, I have lived in China for more than five years. I am still fascinated by how well organized, and, at the same time, dynamic and vibrant life can be in China. Private life and business are so closely connected that new ideas and opportunities could pop up at literally any time. It also certainly stems from the people's great trust in the Chinese communist party and a sense of political and societal security, which provides a fertile base for doing business in China. I am very confident that this kind of social development and political stability will lead to an increasingly peaceful and prosperous future, not only in China but worldwide.

2017年初，我作为鲁道夫·沙尔平战略公司（Rudolf Scharping Strategie Beratung Kommunikation AG，RSBK）的项目经理来到北京。从那以后，我在中国生活了五年多。我发现中国人生活井然有序，充满活力。我也关注并赞赏这里非常尊重纪律和严格的组织；私人生活和商业是如此紧密地联系在一起，以至于新的想法和机会可以随时出现。这当然源于人们对中国共产党的高度信任，以及政治和社会的安全感，这为外国人在中国做生意提供了很好的基础。我非常相信，中国的社会发展和政治稳定将引领中国乃至世界走向日益繁荣与和平的未来。

I believe that many countries could learn from China, especially when it comes to reducing social exclusion, as China puts a lot of effort into economic stability and individual participation. As a business match-making intermediary, I have been working in Chinese, German, and US companies in China and experienced the growth in domestic infrastructure investments as well as the drive of local government authorities to accelerate poverty alleviation and environmental protection and to push forward international cooperation projects. I hope that I can share the lessons I have learned in China in my future career and private life.

我相信很多国家可以从中国学到很多东西，尤其是在减少社会排斥方面,因为中国在经济稳定和个人参与方面付出了大量努力。作为一名商业中介，我一直在中国、德国和美国的公司工作，经历了中国国内基础设施投资的增长，以及地方政府加速扶贫、环保和国际合作项目的推动工作。我希望我可以在未来的职业生涯生活中分享我在中国学到的经验。

This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. Over the past 50 years, the bilateral trade volume between China and Germany has increased by over 800 times. With a volume of trade of over 245 billion euros, China was once again Germany's largest trading partner for goods in 2021. According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, in 2021, the bilateral trade volume between China and Germany reached a record high despite the impact of the pandemic.

今年是中德建交50周年。50年来，中德双边贸易额增长了800多倍，2021年，中国再次成为德国最大的商品贸易伙伴，贸易额超过2450亿欧元。据德国联邦统计局（Federal Statistic Office of Germany）统计，2021年，尽管受到疫情的影响，中德双边贸易额仍创下历史新高。 

Currently, I am a senior manager at the Berlin Business Desk China. My main role is to achieve further business momentum and to initiate more cooperation projects for companies from Berlin and China. I have noticed that many professionals from China and Germany are part of the Berlin in China community. I have also realized that some of our friends from China have spent many decades doing business in Berlin as well as some of our friends from Berlin have already spent more than 40 years doing business and cultural exchange in China. Together we are creating new highlights of cooperation and initiatives that increase the partnership and friendship between Berlin and China.

目前，我是柏林驻华商务联络处的高级经理。我的主要任务是为柏林和中国的公司实现进一步的商业合作服务，并启动更多的合作项目。我注意到，许多来自中国和德国的专业人士都是柏林中国社区的一部分。我也发现，我们的一些中国朋友已经在柏林做了几十年的生意，我们的一些柏林朋友也已经在中国做了40多年的生意和文化交流。我们正在共同创造合作的新亮点，以增进德国和中国之间的伙伴关系和友谊。

During the last year, I also had the chance to work together with partners from different international business chambers and agencies. I learned a lot about China's influence in many parts of the world, not only as a target market but also by developing and offering future-oriented cooperation models such as the "Belt and Road" initiative. My dream is to continue working in this international environment and, in the future, to act as an intermediary between companies from China, Germany, and fast-growing markets in Africa such as Ghana or Nigeria.

在过去的一年里，我有机会与来自不同国际商会和机构的合作伙伴一起工作，了解了中国在世界许多地区的影响，不仅是作为目标市场，而且建立和提供面向未来的合作模式，如服务于“一带一路”倡议。我的梦想是继续在这样的国际环境中工作，并在未来充当中国、德国、加纳或尼日利亚等非洲快速增长公司之间的中介。
