2025年5月9日，丝路国际智库副理事长兼秘书长杨东平一行拜访埃塞俄比亚驻华大使馆，与埃塞俄比亚驻华大使塔费拉·德贝·伊马姆进行会谈。双方就加强“一带一路”倡议下中非商业合作，促进中国与埃塞俄比亚青年交流、文化合作以及智库伙伴关系展开深入交流。

On May 9, 2025, Mr. Yang Dongping, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Silk Road International Think Tank, led a delegation to visit the Embassy of Ethiopia in China and engaged in discussions with Tefera Derbew Yimam, His Excellency the Ambassador of Ethiopia to China.  The meeting focused on enhancing Africa-China business collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as well as fostering youth exchange, cultural cooperation, and think tank partnerships between Ethiopia and China.  

塔费拉大使强调，埃塞俄比亚是非洲地区唯一与中国有着独特且稳固的“全天候战略伙伴关系”的国家。此外，中国是埃塞俄比亚最大的贸易伙伴，尤其是在咖啡等主要出口产品方面。埃塞俄比亚的旅游业蕴含着巨大的发展潜力，其悠久的古代文明、丰富的文化多样性以及被联合国教科文组织认定的世界文化遗址，构成了吸引中国游客的核心魅力。他指出，亚吉铁路等标志性项目的建设，具有重要的里程碑意义。埃塞俄比亚致力于深化在知识共享、创新和技术转让领域的合作，尤其注重对青年的赋能。

Ambassador Tefera highlighted the unique and robust "All-Weather Strategic Partnership" between Ethiopia and China—the only such partnership in Africa—underscoring China’s position as Ethiopia’s leading trading partner, particularly in key exports like coffee. He also emphasized the vast potential for tourism growth, citing Ethiopia’s rich ancient civilization, cultural diversity, and UNESCO-recognized heritage sites as major attractions for Chinese visitors. The Ambassador commended landmark BRI projects such as the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway and reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to deepening cooperation in knowledge-sharing, innovation, and technology transfer, with a special focus on empowering youth. 

杨东平表示，丝路国际智库致力于服务“一带一路”倡议的高质量发展，促进“一带一路”智库的国际交流与合作，以发挥青年群体的先锋作用，是一个实体性智库平台。他强调，智库在推进中国现代化进程中的关键作用，加强中非青年，特别是与埃塞俄比亚青年之间的交流至关重要。他指出，在人工智能（AI）和技术领域存在巨大的合作潜力，这些领域是推动未来几代人发展的关键动力。

Mr. Yang Dongping stated that the Silk Road International Think Tank is committed to serving the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting international exchanges and cooperation along the Belt and Road, and leveraging the vanguard role of the youth group. It is a substantive think tank platform. He emphasized the pivotal role of think tanks in advancing China's modernization process and stressed that strengthening exchanges between Chinese and African youth, especially with Ethiopian youth, is of vital importance. He pointed out that there is huge potential for cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology, which are key drivers for the development of future generations.

双方一致认同，在“一带一路”倡议的框架下，加强青年交流与智库合作，推动文化和旅游等领域合作，以致于加强两国人民相互理解。同时，双方将探索在科技创新领域的合作，特别是人工智能的发展。通过媒体和出版物例如《丝路百科》杂志等，扩大对埃塞俄比亚的宣传。

Both sides agreed to strengthen youth exchanges and think tank cooperation under the BRI framework, promote cultural and tourism ties to enhance mutual understanding of the two peoples, and explore partnerships in the field of technological innovation, especially in the development of artificial intelligence. They also pledged to expand the promotion of Ethiopia through media and publications such as the Silk Road Encyclopedia magazine.

最后，双方将把此次讨论成果转化为具体可行的合作关系，联合青年、知识与技术力量，共同开创更加光明与繁荣的未来。此次交流，标志着中国与埃塞俄比亚之间长期且多维度的合作关系又迈出了坚实的一步。

reaffirmed their commitment to transforming these discussions into concrete, actionable partnerships that unite youth, knowledge, and technology for a brighter and more prosperous future. The meeting marked another step forward in the enduring and multifaceted relationship between Ethiopia and China.
