4月23日，是全世界阅读者的节日。以“阅读·成长”为主题的 “丝路青年读书会”，当天下午在丝路国际智库举办。

April 23rd is a celebration for readers around the world. The 'Silk Road Youth Reading Hub,' themed 'Reading and Growth,' was held that afternoon at the Silk Road International Think Tank.

十二届全国政协副主席刘晓峰，全国政协常委、教科卫体委员会副主任、中国科协原党组书记尚勇，对外经济贸易大学全球化与中国现代化问题研究所所长王志民，丝路国际智库副理事长兼秘书长杨东平等，与来自“一带一路”18个国家的青年代表参加了读书活动，一起分享阅读的乐趣，阅读的收获，以及阅读的意义。

Liu Xiaofeng, Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Shang Yong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and Deputy Director of the Committee for Education, Science, Health and Sports, and former Party Secretary of the China Association for Science and Technology; Wang Zhimin, Director of the Institute for Globalization and China's Modernization Issues at the University of International Business and Economics; and Yang Dongping, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Silk Road International Think Tank, together with youth representatives from 18 "Belt and Road" countries, participated in the reading event, sharing the joy of reading, the rewards of reading, and the meaning of reading.

The event was hosted by Liu Yixin, former CCTV Chinese International Channel host and program planner.  

丝路国际智库副理事长兼秘书长杨东平致辞中说到，值此第30个世界读书日，“丝路青年读书会”以“阅读·成长”为主题，旨在希望青年一代通过阅读，传承文明基因、激发创新思维、凝聚行动共识、打造“云端丝路青年书院”。读万卷书，行万里路，让我们期待，从这里出发的青年，能以书卷为舟、以思想为桨，在21世纪的新丝路上，书写属于这个时代的传奇！

In his speech, Yang Dongping, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Silk Road International Think Tank, said that on the occasion of the 30th World Book Day, the 'Silk Road Youth Reading Hub' with the theme of ‘Reading and Growth’ aims to encourage the younger generation to inherit the essence of civilization through reading, inspire innovative thinking, build a shared consensus for action, and create a 'Silk Road Youth Virtual Academy.' By reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles, we look forward to seeing the youth who embark from here, with books as their vessels and ideas as their guide, write the legends of our era on the new Silk Road of the 21st century! 

全国政协常委、教科卫体委员会副主任、中国科协原党组书记尚勇以自身经历，告诫与会青年，在科技发展日新月异的时代，要与时俱进的阅读，要注重阅读的方法，要提升阅读效果。当算法推送不断强化我们的认知偏见，当短视频切割着注意力，我们比任何时候都更需要重建阅读的仪式感。

Shang Yong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC, Deputy Director of the Committee for Education, Science, Health and Sports, and former Party Secretary of the China Association for Science and Technology, shared his personal experiences to caution the youth present at the meeting that in an era of rapid technological development, they should keep up with the times in their reading, pay attention to reading methods, and enhance the effectiveness of reading. When algorithms continuously reinforce our cognitive biases and short videos fragment our attention, we need to rebuild the sense of ritual in reading more than ever.

十二届全国政协副主席刘晓峰高度评价了此次活动，并寄希望于广大青年，他说，最美人间四月天，恰是书香氤氲时。他强调，当今世界正经历百年未有之大变局，既充满希望，也充满挑战。应对共同挑战、迈向美好未来，离不开文化文明的力量。他希望广大青年，要用更加开放的心态接受和欣赏不同国家的文化和文学作品，通过阅读不同国家、不同民族、不同时代的作品，更加深入地了解其他文化和思想，从而拓宽我们的视野和胸怀，推动不同文明相互尊重、和衷共济、和合共生。

Liu Xiaofeng, Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC, highly praised the event and expressed his hopes for the youth. He said, 'The most beautiful time of the year is April, when the scent of books fills the air.' He emphasized that the world today is experiencing unprecedented changes, full of both hope and challenges. To face common challenges and move toward a better future, the power of culture and civilization is essential. He hopes that young people will embrace and appreciate the cultures and literary works of different countries with an open mind. By reading works from different countries, ethnic groups, and eras, they can gain a deeper understanding of other cultures and ideas, thus broadening our horizons and hearts, and promoting mutual respect, unity, and harmonious coexistence among different civilizations.

丝路国际智库的读书活动从2018年正式开始。一直以来，读书活动结合共建“一带一路”，每年不定期举办不同形式的丝路青年读书活动，受到“一带一路”各国青年的热烈欢迎。

The Silk Road International Think Tank's reading activities officially began in 2018. Since then, these activities have been closely linked to the co-building of the "Belt and Road" initiative. Every year, various forms of Silk Road Youth Reading events are held, receiving enthusiastic support from youth across "Belt and Road" countries.

为让读书活动持续深入开展，丝路国际智库联合相关单位启动丝路青年读书会，并举行了揭牌仪式。此活动旨在为广大丝路青年提供更好的阅读和分享体验，提供更大的成长平台。

To ensure the continued growth of the reading activities, The Silk Road International Think Tank, in collaboration with relevant organizations, has launched the Silk Road Youth Reading Hub. and held a plaque unveiling ceremony on the day of the event.

This event aims to provide young people along the Silk Road with a better reading and sharing experience, as well as a larger platform for growth.

Mrs.Ninikanwa Okey-Uche, mni , Minister of the Embassy of Nigeria in China, shared her experiences of growing through reading via video.

著名的“一带一路”研究专家王志民作主题分享，他从自身成长经历及现在取得的成果，和对“一带一路”的研究，印证了读书对青年人成长成才，以及如何为社会发展和人类和平有更好的贡献，都给了与会青年代表深刻的启迪。

Renowned "Belt and Road" research expert Wang Zhimin gave a thematic presentation, drawing from his own personal growth experience and the achievements he has made. He provided profound insights to the attending youth representatives on how reading contributes to the personal growth and success of young people, as well as how they can make better contributions to social development and  peace through their research on the "Belt and Road" initiative.

“一带一路”青年代表——哈萨克斯坦青年孜来西、土库曼斯坦青年米汉、厄瓜多尔青年迭戈、土库曼斯坦青年阿迪、印度尼西亚青年朴力、博茨瓦纳青年陶莎等，都结合自己阅读的书籍，分享了阅读与成长的体会。

Youth representatives from "Belt and Road" countries — including Yerkanat Zilash from Kazakhstan, Tekayev Merdan from Turkmenistan, Melendres Funsan Diego Alejandro from Ecuador, Gurbanov Adylgeldi from Turkmenistan, Muhammad Apri Yansyah from Indonesia, and Tshosa Eunice from Botswana — shared their experiences of reading and personal growth, each based on the books they had read.

Two veteran media professionals, Ji Changren and Fan Qingfeng, shared their insights and experiences on reading.

“丝路青年读书会”开始前，丝路国际智库秘书处为与会者准备了一场别开生面的非遗活动——投壶，让大家在有趣的游戏中体验中国传统文化。

Before the 'Silk Road Youth Reading Hub' began, the Silk Road International Think Tank Secretariat organized a special intangible cultural heritage activity — 'Touhu (Pitch-pot game)' — allowing participants to experience traditional Chinese culture through a fun and engaging game.
