The event was hosted by Gu Boping. He stated, “this year marks the tenth anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's proposal to jointly build the Belt and Road. Over the past 10 years, international cooperation under the Belt and Road initiative has flourished, extending from the Asian-European continent to Africa and Latin America. More than 150 countries and over 30 international organizations have signed cooperation agreements to jointly build the Belt and Road. More than 20 professional cooperation platforms have been established. The Belt and Road circle of friends has expanded worldwide, and the ancient Silk Road, spanning thousands of years, has shown boundless vitality in the new era.

At the recently held the Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum, General Secretary Xi Jinping announced the support for the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road with eight actions, setting the direction and laying the foundation for the next golden decade. Today's event is a concrete action to implement the 'Eight Actions' proposed by General Secretary Xi.”

Yang Dongping stated that the Silk Road International Think Tank Exchange Center and other units have launched the Belt and Road open class and the "Silk Road Famous Cities" promotion series. The purpose of organizing the open class is to interpret the important cooperation consensus and major cooperation achievements reached by all parties at the third Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum, guiding young people to grow and innovate better on the Belt and Road. The promotion activities will focus on cities along the Belt and Road, presenting the historical context, diverse civilizations, and spiritual connotations of the Belt and Road from the perspective of cities, telling stories of how the Belt and Road promotes common prosperity and development. It is hoped that friends from all walks of life will strongly support and actively participate, jointly giving these two initiatives distinctive features and high standards, promoting the harmonious coexistence and mutual achievements of different civilizations, and facilitating friendly exchanges and mutual understanding among people of various countries along the route.

The center aims to provide a more objective and comprehensive reflection of the development history of the Silk Road and its contributions to cultural integration. They plan to introduce the culture, customs, products, and achievements in the development of the Belt and Road in countries and regions along the route. The goal is to tell the stories of the Chinese people realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the joint efforts of people from various countries in building a community with a shared future for humanity, and to become storytellers of the positive narratives of the Belt and Road.The center will spare no effort to promote understanding of what the "Belt and Road" initiative is and how it is being built. They will report on the benefits and happiness that this initiative has brought to the people along the route, interpreting the profound connotations of the "Belt and Road" as a path of peace, prosperity, openness, green development, innovation, and civilization. The center aims to be a promoter of the high-quality development of the Belt and Road. They will actively reach out, appeal to various parties, further integrate resources from governments, academia, enterprises, and media, expand the upstream and downstream industrial chains and relevant foreign services, continuously enrich channels for people of various countries to unite and make friends, promote mutual learning of civilizations, and facilitate communication among the people along the route. The goal is to compose a harmonious and inclusive chapter for people around the world, serving as communicators of the popular sentiment for the Belt and Road.

萨法·沃亚·罗格阁下在致辞中指出，“一带一路”倡议为各国带来了持续而前瞻性的发展，塞拉利昂参与共建“一带一路”取得了一系列里程碑式的成就。他对《丝路百科》创刊五周年表示热烈祝贺。同时希望塞拉利昂的一些重要城市能够纳入“丝路名城”的推广，并成为“丝路名城”。

In his speech, H.E. Saffa-Woya Rogers pointed out that the “Belt and Road” Initiative has brought sustained and forward-looking development to countries, and Sierra Leone's participation in the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” has achieved a series of milestone achievements. He warmly congratulated the fifth anniversary of the founding of the 《Silk Road Encyclopedia》. At the same time, he hoped that some important cities in Sierra Leone could be included in the promotion of "Silk Road Famous Cities" and become "Silk Road Famous Cities."

Finally, under the guidance of Dean Shi Zhiqin, the attendees engaged in a discussion regarding the editorial work of the 《Silk Road Encyclopedia》magazine. Wang Zhimin, Xu Jin, Ou Xiaoli, Zhou Yong, Qian Yeyong, Peng Wenxiang, Lin Cunzhen, Ding Ye, Liu Xiaoling, Liu Jiansheng, Yang Bangjie, Wu Shengjun, Chen Guangming, Chen Defu, Gan Cheng, and youth representatives took turns speaking. They fully acknowledged the role played by the 《Silk Road Encyclopedia》in disseminating the spirit of the Silk Road, introducing Silk Road culture, promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road, and advocating the concept of a community of human destiny. From various perspectives, they offered suggestions on how to continue managing the magazine effectively.
